چکیده

Method We included two study groups. The study group 1 was consisted of 100 human subjects whose post mortem autopsy revealed severe atheromatosis of their coronary arteries. 100 patients who underwent cardiac MultiDetector-row-Computed-Tomography (MDCT) and they were found positive for severe coronary atheromatosis were included in the study group 2. Our case group consists of both group 1 and 2. The control group consists of 100 healthy individuals. DNA was obtained from 100 paraffin embedded human aortic tissues and 100 blood samples for our study groups respectively. DNA from the control group was also obtained from blood samples. Genotyping was performed by allele specific PCR or PCR-RFLP analysis.

Hydrocortisone Reduces Toll-Like Receptor 4 Expression on Peripheral CD14+ Monocytes in Patients Undergoing Percutanoues Coronary Intervention

Bacground: Evidence from several lines of investigations suggests that Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) is involved in atherosclerosis as a bridge between innate and acquired immunity. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) can trigger inflammation through activation of human TLR4 (hTLR4) on monocytes. Hydrocortisone as an anti-inflammatory and immuno-suppressant agent has multiple mechanisms of a...

Monocyte Expression of Toll-like Receptor-4 in Patients with Stable Angina Undergoing Percutanoeus Coronary Intervention

Background: Toll like receptors (TLRs) are well recognized players in inflammatory conditions. Among them TLR-4 is involved in chronic inflammatory processes such as formation of atherosclerotic plaques. Objective: The present study was aimed to examine the effects of percutanoeus coronary intervention (PCI) as a revascularization method on monocyte expression of hTLR-4 and on the serum levels ...

Clinical Value of Toll Like Receptor 4 and CD14 in Children with Acute Lower Respiratory Tract Infection

Toll like receptors (TLRs) with a myeloid differentiation antigen (CD14) recognize and bind various structures from invading microbes and then trigger cell activation. They initiate a variety of effectors' functions, including cytokine secretion, proliferation, co-stimulation or phagocyte maturation. The aim of this study was to evaluate Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and CD14 expression in childr...

Lipopolysaccharide Induced Activation of Toll Like Receptor 4 in Isolated Rat Heart Suggests a Local Immune Response in Myocardium

Background: Myocardial dysfunction is one of the major complications in patients with sepsis where there is a relationship between the blood level of cytokines and the onset of myocardial depression. In many cases of sepsis, the presence of Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) has been established. LPS Binding Protein (LBP) bound endotoxin is recognized by CD14/toll-like receptor-4 (TLR4) complexes in inna...

Association of monoctye expression of Toll-like receptor 4 and its related cytokines with coronary luminal stenosis

Toll-like receptors are well-defined barriers in innate immunity. Among them hTLR4 on the surface of monocytes, plays a critical role in the formation of atherosclerotic plaques, plaque instability and arterial remodeling through production of inflammatory cytokines. This study was designed to examine the association of hTLR4 monocyte expression and response with the severity of coronary stenos...
